Default 3w140 ???

I want to upgrade my 3w140, I was told that the carb mounting block for a da150 could be used on the 3w140, can anyone confirm this & also do you think the 90 degree intake would help with the midrange & transition of the 140. would canister mufflers & headers give better performance than the incowl johnson cans. Any help upgrading this engine would be very much appreciated.
