A while back I started a thread where my Dubro stopper melted and clogged the carb. I thought I had all of the problems fixed until I tried to start it yesterday. I had cleaned the carb, but it still would not start. I poured some gas in the carb and it would start and imediatley die. While it was running it also made a knocking or clicking noise. I took the engine and carb completely off this time and this junk was ALL THROUGH THE ENGINE. I sprayed carb cleaner in the engine and black junk just ran out from every hole in the engine. Remember this engine just has 6 flights and less than 30oz of gas run thru it. So my question is "do I need to send this back or do you think it is OK from here?" I think I got it clean now and I don't think this is something covered by the warrenty--(THANKS A LOT DUBRO!

You don't say what kind of engine you have? But whatever, you should make every effort to flush the junk out of it. This rubber junk will cause your piston to gaul and also will build up on top of your piston and cause an interference between the piston and head.
good luck,

This is what I love about this hobby. I decided to try it anyway--So I got another can of carb cleaner and sprayed everything until there is no color but clear carb cleaner coming out of the holes. I put it back together using Marvel Mysterery Oil to keep things loose. It took some coaxing, but it finally fired up. Don't have a tach, but it seemed to run OK with a 18/10 prop. Does anybody have any RPM numbers with this prop combo?
