Has anybody ever converted a Stihl? I love my Stihl chainsaw and I KNOW that if I could get one converted it would be great!!!!

you can get the 43cc 028 stihl really cheap if you look around
cause they have a tendency to break the clutch off of the rear output shaft but you dont need that side anyway one like this
will go for $40-60 bucks for spare parts

take every thing off thats not engine related then saw off the metal casethat houses the chain oil tank the gas tank ect untill
it starts to look like an rc engine
this engine will need you to come up with or make a backing plate or mount of some sort a prop adapter and carb manifold
depending on your skill and or desire to do it yourself you may have to buy a couple pieces or find a friend with a lathe to make the prop adapter and carb intake

what really baffles the (#&^$#) out me is there are lots of places that readily sell all the parts to convert weedeater ,homelite,ryobe engines and no matter what you do
they arent worth the trouble when you consider the power to weight ratio

at least with this engine you can expect superior performance to a g-38 and just shy of a g45

An alternative to doing the conversion work yourself is to have somebody like Ralph at RCignition (post #2) do the work professionally. If interested, check with Ralph at:
