Default zdz timing

i have a zdz 80 rv single. has anyone set there timing. when i got my engine. new. the pick up sensor holder was at the most advanced position it could be. they say its set from factory. i tried to decifer the web sit. and i aslo looked at my book. it says at top dead center its supposed to be 6 mm from the middle of the magnet to the middle of the magnetic pick up. i did this. but it was very very hard to start. has anyone advanced there timing without problems. or how have others done this. i did advance it a little. and it started much better. and ive never herd preignition. the engine is still braking in. ive only had about 2 gallons of fuel thru it. and what rpm are anyone else getting out of these engines. with say a 26 10 prop. mines a 3w prop. im still running it richer. anyhow any help with this timing issue would be great. the translations from zdz to english is a bit confusing.. thanks for any help

Do a search for your engine on RCU and you will find lots of info.

Look at this link and time the 80 as shown.

For what it's worth my ZDZ80RV with a Bisson Pitts style muffler turns a Bambula 26x10 around 6100 depending on the weather. Mine starts very easy.
