Default DA-50 Muffler

I want to run a smoke system with my DA-50. I havent gotten a muffler yet. Do I need to get a "smoke" muffler like a Slimline or can I just tap the stock muffler that DA sells? The stock muffler is about 1/2 the price of the Slimline

Thanks

You can tap the stock muffler. in fact if you order it from desert aircraft they dont even stock the smoke mufflers from what i hear and they will tell where to tap it.

Juat call and talk to brian or dave

FWIW- If noise is an issue, the standard muffler is very loud (102db).

Stock muffler already has a hole tapped in it for smoke.

That's my guess. I'm not using smoke, so I just screwed in the supplied bolt to plug it. They also give you a nipple fitting for it.
