Default How to Control Choke on Gas Engine?

I have now installed a Roto25 gas engine on my KMP Hurricane. Does anyone have any suggestions for controlling the choke without using a servo? The engine is cowled and I would like to use a simple mechanical solution. I have thought about a simple pushrod through a hole in the side of the cowl, but I don't know how to do it in a manner that allows me to easily install and remove the cowl. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Travis

Travis -
Generally you can run a push/pull rod out the bottom of the cowl either in the cooling air outlet or next to it. You may have to use a bellcrank to get the linkage where you want it. Since you spoke of going thru the side of the cowl, I presume the motion is sideways. A 90 degree bellcrank (easily made from a cruciform/cross shaped servo arm). will translate sideways motion to up and down motion by cutting off two of the arms and keeping two arms that are perpendicular to each other.

RRose,

Thanks for the information. I will take a look at this and see if I can run a push/pull rod out through the cooling area.
