prop size

My Feedback: (1)
Will a US-41 comfortably turn a 22 inch prop? If so, what is the max pitch, and if not, what is the largest prop you'd be comfortable with?
This is why I'm asking: I'm putting this engine on a 1/4 scale Vaillancourt Birddog, it is going to weigh probably between 18-22 pounds, and will only be flown scale (I promise, no torque rolls or knife edge
). A scale diameter prop is a 22, and I plan to put a lot of detail on this plane, and the scale prop is part of it. I can lose the idea if it just won't work, maybe go to a Q52, although I already have the -41 (got a heck of a deal, brand new in box with the aluminum Pitts muffler)

I would guess that 22" will be a little much. My 35 (if I get the thing started) will turn an 18-8 just right. The 41 has more power obviously, but not that much more I wouldn't expect. 20-6 might be ok. Depends on your needs.....maybe you don't need to squeeze out all the power if you want scale flight and diameter. In that case a 22-6 might work for you.
I'm guessing that questions on this forum will be very slow to get responses from US engines as is shown by the lack of tech response to the recent questions.[
