Default 28cc Whipper Snipper Motor and prop size??

I have a crazy idea. I want to mount a 28cc whipper snipper motor on the back of my mountain bike. What size prop would this motor turn and would it be enought to move the bike around with a 200 pound person riding. I know I would have to pedal to get it started, but do you think it would move it along once it got rolling? Any ideas or suggestions???

Thanks

Gee you may want to figure out how to keep that XL shirt tail from being sucked up in the prop.

I would not care to go for a ride with a prop at my back spinning 6000+! How are you going to cage the prop?

maybe a belt or contact drive would be more efficient, unless you just need the added A/C!!

28cc pushing a 200 pound man on a 30 pound bike. I don't think so.

i have a 28cc whipper snipper engine on a plane using a 18x10 bolly prop at 6400 rpm it hauls
a 14 pound plane around very easy good static thrust on the ground
i think it would be safer to mount it in front of the handle bars but ,a bit windier but it would have to be safer
just dont hit any grass hoppers yuk !!!

I am going to build a trike platform out of 2 old mountain bikes. That will get the motor further from my body. The frame will be similar to a powered schute frame, or ultralight frame. The prop will be fully caged out of aluminum and steel rod.

If a 28cc motor is too small, what size would I need? Is is even possible? I don't want to fly on this thing, just cruise at 30 or 40 miles per hour.

Thanks for everybodys input.

Darren

Now,
If you can chop off 50# off that weight, without any length reduction, a 20x6 prop just might not suck in your shirt, and you can reduce pedal thrust required by some 15#
On a nice tarmac, you'll be fine.
Chop off another 120#, put on some wings, and you will fly!

I believe that everyone is telling you to use a chain from the clutch and drive the wheels like an under powered car. The prop will only create a stiff breeze, and keep you cool. The snipper will give you about 1 horsepower on the road, and that should be enough for a 20 MPH canter.....Giddy UP!!
