Default voltage and battery size for DA-100

Hi all,

What size voltage regulator and battery should I get for a DA-100? voltage regulators come in 5.1, 5.6, and 6.0 volts and the batteries in 950mah, 1400mah, 2000mah and up. Also, while youre in here, what size mejzlik prop would be a good combination for this engine on a hostetler 33% super decathalon?

thanks in advance,

Chris

Default RE: voltage and battery size for DA-100

hi chris you can use anywhere from 4.8v- to 6.v go to the lower voltage 5.1v as the higher the voltage the more power the ignition will consume.
i use a 2100ma ni-mh pack and can easily get 6-7 flights in a day without charging.
i use a 28x10 prop mejzlik but the plane is a extra comp-arf,

regards rod

I agree with Rod, but if you can find one I would look for a 30x 8 for the decathalon

Get a 1650 mAh NiMH 4 cell pack for $10.00. Weight : 4 oz. No need for a regulator. Will power your ignition through more than a gallon of fuel.

I have not been impressed by 28 inch and up props on a DA-100. The motor is slow to spool up. A 26x12 Menz or Mejzlik would be great on a decathlon.
A 27x10 Menz would also work with less top-end speed.
