Default DA 150 questions.

Hi, I was flying my edge the other day that has a DA 150 in it. Its been doing this for a while, when I would take off at full throttle, it would seem like it would want to quit for about 2 or 3 seconds and then go back to full throttle, but just on takeoff. Now it was doing it other times now. The one time the engine did quit at about half throttle after it did it. Am I to lean? Or should I go a different fuel/oil mixture. I am using 50:1 now, thinking about 100:1 now. I'm going to take the cowl off tonight and check the plugs, maybe there are getting fowled. What is the gap on the spark plugs for the DA? Any help would be appreciated with this problem. I don't want to bring it down to low of the engine quitting.

There could be a few problems. My first question is have you ever adjusted the needles, or just left them at factory settings?

The carb. has letters next to each needle, and H and an L. I believe the low needle (L) is the needle closest to the crankcase, so the top needle. Turn it out 1/8 to 1/4 turn, and make sure you let the engine burn clean (clear it out) on the ground before take off. My DA150 always had a bit of a tendency to load up some when taxying out.

Make sure that the High needle is 1 7/8 open and the Low 5/8 open, that is the factory setting, make sure you start from there as it will not be far out
