Default Cessna 182

Okay, now that Delta fired me, (I turned 60..they're supposed to) I have a lot more time for my hobby. I have of set of 1/4 scale Cessna 182 plans and am planning to build from them. The first thing I thought of was what kind of engine I should plan on using. I assume the model will be 18-20 lbs. and I will be purchasing my first gas engine. Anyone have any suggestions as to what brand, etc. If you've had good or bad luck with a certain brand, please let me know. My daughter took this pick of my last landing at Hartsville for Delta on March 25, 2005 while she was waiting on me to attend my retirement party. It was a doozie. Anyhoo, any help on the engine will be appreciated.

Sounds like you want an easy to use and adjust gas engine that can produce up to the 18-20 pound weight of your model. Comb through the gas engine forum, and the tachometer readings forum. I am also searching for a suitable first engine. I have not heard anything bad about the Brison 2.4 engine which should produce about that amount of thrust. You might look at that one for starters.
