I am interested in buying a BME 50 for my Lanier cap 232, and was wondering where the best place to purchase it would be? Also what prop would work best on this engine?
Thanks, John

I have a BRAND NEW Taurus TS52. I have ran it 3 times on the bench just to see how well it runs.
MENS S 19x10 3 BLADE 6600 rpm this is a lot of lumber
Pro ZINGER 22x8 2 blade 7200 rpm
Mejzlik 21x10 2 blade 7700 rpm
These are the 3 times this engine has been ran and I have NOT touched the needles. Still under warranty and I have the receipt. Bought it at Toledo and took another month to get it so it was new to me in MAY this year. New it costs $559 Let it go for $510 shipped.
I have done a SIDE BY SIDE comparison with the BME50 and my result were...
The TS52 and the BME50 turn nearly identical numbers with same props. The Taurus is smoother while the BME is lighter.

Don's Hobby Shop: Tech line (785) 827-3222.
I've had real good experience with them giving good advice and keeping the good stuff in stock. Only problem is they don't have a website.

All the phone numbers are listed there.
Check out chief aircraft also, they include shipping.
Also the soon to be released DA 50 is lighter and stronger, you can get information on it at

The DA is probably the better choice based on my research.
