On page 7 of the installation manual it says that the pump turns on at approximately 50% stick travel.
On page 19 of the TIPS booklet, it gives a Futaba programming example where you adjust ATV until quote, "pump turns off at the desired throttle setting."
I have the Simple SAmoke Pump setup. My question is, Can the pump be turned on at a setting lower than 50% throttle somehow?
I have a JR 10x

Absolutely. If you aren't looking for a proportional smoke control, just use the gear switch for an "on/off" pump switch. The changes in available heat at various throttle settings will adjust the amount of smoke developed to some extent, but will not adjust the amount of oil delivered to the exhaust. That's where the proportional control become useful.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the pump in the gear channel. Since the Smart Smoker says that it turns on at about 50% stick travel, that's indeed what it does. It is proportional from about half throttle on up. The proportional part of the set up makes the smoke lots better at full throttle where there is the most oil.
Maybe I'm trying to do something that can't be done. I've seen lots of guys at low throttle settings putting out smoke.
It could be that this setup doesn't do that.
I have to look at my mixes again. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be proportional starting at 50% stick travel, or full on at 50% stick travel?
I'll keep tinkering_bob
