Default DA 50 concern

I have a DA 50 on my double vision. It runs fine on the ground. About 2 gallons of 30% ashless oil mixture thru it so far. Using a Menza 22X10. Engine looked at from experienced DA100 owners which feel the mixture is set right.
Manfacture number 2779. The reason I've given number is I've read about problem on previoius DA50.

PROBLEM: When flying, I idle down with a few second the engine stops. My first impression after looking over throttle linkage is I might need to secure it in one more location just before the linkage on the carb.
In other words, could the vibration cause the linkage to flex enough to move the throttle arm to close? Causing the engine to stop

Any thoughts on this problem. I've had 4 dead stick. On the forth I ended short of the run way. Lost landing gear. I don't want to continue tearing up plane.

You might give DA a call just to check in with them. THey might know what your engine needs.

I had a similar problem with my ZDZ 50, engine would quit when idled down at times also I had trouble getting a consistent idle. It turned out to be a servo that wouldn't center well with the engine running, I replaced the servo with a new digital servo and all of my idle problems went away.

Hi; I too have had the same problem with the DA 50's. How to resolve: There has been a couple of new updates for thr DA 50's. One which includes the carburator. Desert Aircraft will send you a updated carb kit free for the asking. This will solve your problem.

A bit much oil, don't you think? As suggested, I would look at servo travel. Try to richen up the low a little. Get the plenum retro kit from DA. Turn your idle up a little while in the air. The engine needs minimum 10 gallons through it before it starts acting like a "grown up".
