Default not drawing fuel?

HI All
i have an ultra stick with a 25cc weed eater motor, with a Welbro carb.

The engine has hundreds of flights on it, I landed last time I flew and tried to start it and it would not start. I pulled the carb off checked for crap in the carb, did not see any. This eveing I started the engine, it only runs when you choke the partilly with you finger.

What should I look for next?

Thanks in advance

Bill

Did you clean the intake screen when you had the carb apart?

Inside the carb, there is a very fine mesh filter. By your comments, it sounds like you already checked that. The pump or regulator mechanism inside the carb may be broken. The pump is on one side of the carb and the regulator is on the other side. you can rebuild these for under $10. Sometimes a local small engine shop will have the replacement parts (ask for a carb rebuild kit for a Walbro model xxx).

For 10$ ?? You guys in the US are previliged.
Over here the repair kits are sold for at least Euro 20.00, Too many hirarchy layers earn money on the parts.

I guess it works both ways...I had a ZDZ 80 twin here to fix...It had Bing carbs on it..Needed diaphragms...I was quoted a price of $39.95 for EACH repair kit..I put Walbro diaphragms in the carbs, cost less, worked fine..less than $2 each....
What in the world does a Bing 48 carb cost ?

I'd still bet the fine mesh filter is clogged. Take the side off the Walbro that has the single large screw in the center. You will see a fine meshed screen about 1/4 inch in diameter recessed in a small hole in the carb. Using a pin or equivalent, lift it out and rinse it in clean fuel. I actually hold it in a tweezers and light it with a lighter to burn off the fine fuss that often coats it then rinse and replace. If you fuel tank has been contaminated someway, this may be a temporary solution only as it will plug up again. Make sure your tank is very clean and filter the fuel as you fill your tank. If that doesn't work, put in a carb kit, I get mine at the local lawn mower repair shops for about $6.

Just how hard did you land it when this happened. Maybe your clunk line is twisted, just a thought.
