BME100 : is it a good engine?

I've got an opportunity to buy a "new" (never run) BME 100 with a Composite ARF Extra 2.6m for what I thought was a good price.
However, I've heard that the BME 100 has bad vibration (especially a bad thing for a fiberglass plane?) and that it is down on power compared to more recent 100-110cc engines.
I'm flying IMAC Sportsman/Intermediate at 5500ft altitude.
Thanks for your comments.

I have a BME 102 and the engine runs great.
Starts most of the time on the 1st flip and always by the 4th.
It is not as strong as a DA100, BME110, or 3W106 but it is a good engine.
My H9 Cap with BME 102 was used by a friend of mine to fly in the 2004 SE regionals in IMAC.

I agree with Giestware's reply. I have had the 100 and the 102. The 100 seemed to like the Mejzlik 26-10. It will spin a Menz 26-10S but mine seemed to prefer the Mejz..The 100 also does vibrate, more that the 102. It at one time it seemed like alot but it never caused any issues. There light, dependable and will do what you ask.

I have had it for a while.
It has 475 flights on it and now it is down for maintenance.

Where do you find the H9 Cap? I can not seem to find anything listed.

RTK, good luck on finding one. I buy every NIB one that comes up on RCU marketplace that I can. It is without a doubt my favorite plane and I have many 33%ers and larger planes.
I don't know why H-9 does not reintroduce this plane, it is one of the best they have ever produced. I have written them, H-9, Chief and Horizon, requesting they produce another run. And before anyone ask, NO I don't have one for sale.
Good luck.

A year ago, you could get one in parts. It was about $850.
Go to Horizons web site and look for replacement parts for the 33% Cap
