Default BME 102 Reed Block

I was wondering how often should the reed block be changed?
How do you know if it is going bad or is leaking?
If it does leak, what harm is it?

If it leaks you will get no pulse to the carb and no fuel will be pumped..Will be hard to start..
Only harm will be to you, no flying until it's fixed
