BME 50 or DA50. If you can get a DA50 for a good price buy it and send it straight to DA for the mods.

I would recommend the DA50 www.desertaircraft.com
I would recommend the Brison 3.2 www.brisonaircraft.com

Which chainsaw are you referring to? Is it 50cc or thereabouts? Thanks for any help.

If you want trouble free and good performance get a Brison, ZDZ or BME none of them need mods they just run!

Echo 50cc. go to the engine conversion forum. search back to about May and find the " 42 and 4cc Poulan" thread. you can do a 50cc for under 300.00. about 400.00 with electronic ignition.

check out them homelites also. the 45cc one. someone was selling one new for around 200.00.

The Poulan engines make great conversions, but don't think BME engines are straight up conversion engines. They originate as Echo engines, but there are many many modifications done to them to make them lighter and more powerfull. For the cash though, it is hard to beat the Poulan 46.
