Default 3-W ignition problem

Had a 3-w ignition mounted using the rubber grommets and was having RFI real bad.
After messing with radio gear for four days i finally figured out it was from engine vibration effecting ign. module RFI will clear up when you hold module in hand or wrap in foam. Sent module to Aircraft Intl .Kevin said he could not check the rfi problem .so i ordered a new ign. Any body else had this problem ? What is the best way to prevent vibration from effecting module The eng is 3W 120 twin must be a better way to mount ign Thanks This will be the blue dot ign. with metal caps says to use 4.8 volt batt. Ign looks new caps are in very good condition got to be something loose in module for vibration to effect it .The problem is that every thing is potted in no tear down to check coils ect.

Moldmaker....Instead of using the rubber grommets, use 1\4" or 1\2" foam.Glue the foam to the aircraft where you want to mount it.Put masking tape on the bottom of the ignition and then glue it to the foam. Then all you have to do is peel the tape off the ignition when your done with it in that plane and it's good as new.I also use a velcro strap to help hold the ignition in place. This way the ignition moves very freely.I also mount my receivers this way and you don't need the velcro. It can move very freely and there's no pressure on the receiver.Batteries work well this way also, you will want to use velcro though, just because of the weight.Works extremely well...Try it.

I use 2 strips of 1/2" weatherstripping on the bottom of my modules, keeps the vibration down and lets a little air through also.

RE taping the module bottom.....I notice that the 3w instructions mention leaving a air gap under the module, I have only got half an hour on this ignition so I dont know how real he need is, but perhaps something to keep in mind when mounting
