Default Giant Prop Sizes When New

After I lost a sale of my Menz 26x10 prop because I wanted the buyer to be aware that it only measured 25.5", I thought I would make some other measurements on some new and unmodified 3W wooden props I have laying around. Here is what I found. New 30x12 was 29.25" Long, New 28x10 was 27.5", and used 32x10 was 31.5" Is this a common practice, or just with 3W? I also measured a mezj that was right on Not only that, I still have the 26x10 for sale on my site Thanks_bob

Default Prop sizes??

After reading your post I checked your measurements on a few props laying around. Mejzlik 26-10" actually 25-3/4, Mejzlik 27-10" actually 26-7/8, 3W-32-10" actually 31-1/2. The only props measuring as marked are the Bollys- 26-10 & 28-10 and a couple of PK props 27-10 and a 30-10. All the MENZ props I checked are a full 1/2 inch under. My guess is the Germans goofed on the metric conversions. Maybe these props grow to specs when running?he he
