Default Tank Position

Hi all, I have a new ZDZ 40 and am having problems positioning the tank. The best and most accessible place for it is behind the wing tube, pretty much on the C of G. However, i am worried about the distance from the tank to the motor even though it is pumped i'm not sure whether it will have an effect. any input is appreciated. lso i think that it is an improtant requirement to mount the tank on foam to reduce vibration to the tank, could somebody verify this for me.

Cheers Dale

This is a gas engine with a Walbro-type carb. This carb draws fuel using a crankcase-driven diaphram pump. It will adequately draw fuel from just about any place in the fuselage. Put the tank where you need to, and don't worry about it.

Also gasoline won't foam like alcohol so that's not a problem. I use a piece of thin rubber between the tank and mount but thats more to keep the tank from sliding around.

Thanks very much for your advice, this makes my life much easier leaving the tank where it is.

Cheers
