Default Fox 2.4 specs?

Where can I find the specs on a Fox gas 2.4 engine? Not much info on the Fox Manufacturing web site. Also, does anyone else sell this engine for a better price?

What kind of reputation does this engine have? Is it a good engine? How would it compare to F.P.E. 2.4?

Thanks, Bozwth

MY FOX 2.4 IS FLYING A 25LBS VAILANCOURT L-5. ITS SWINGING A MEZJLIK 20X8 PROP AT 7250RPM. IT IS EXTREMELY EASY TO START AND HAS GIVEN ME NO TROUBLE WITH ABOUT 3GALS OF FUEL THRU IT. FOX MAKES THEIR OWN CRANK AND CASE. ITS A BEAUTIFUL LOOKING ENGINE. I KNOW, BEAUTY DOES'NT MAKE THE ENGINE, BUT THIS IS ONE HORSE OF A 2.4

I had a Brison 2.4, which uses the same cylinder and piston as the Fox. Turned a Mejzlik 20x10 at 7100 rpm. The basic design has been around for a decade before Fox started to "copy" it.
It has more power than the FPE and comes standard with either a mechanical throttle-coupled spark advance or with the CH synchro spark (electronic advance by rpm). Brison offers it either way, not sure about Fox. The FPE comes standard with fixed timing, and an option for the electronic advance ignition. If it were me, I'd take a look at the ZDZ-40B (reed valve). Complete package with muffler is $430. The ZDZ-40 (rotary valve) that has been out for a few years is way stronger than the Brison 2.4. My buddy's motor turned a Mejzlik 20x10 at 7600 rpm. He had it on an Aeroworks 29% Edge, and it had excellent performance.
