Default DA 50 Muffler!?

Hey Guys,
For Christmas I'll be getting a TOC1 Yak 54 With a DA-50-R.

I Like to get all my stuff squared away and start planning/buying... That's why I ask so early..

So far the Choices I've found are the Slimline Wrap around (pitts) and the stock DA Muffler.. But I've heard some good things about cans on larger engines.. No 50cc Reports.. The Plane has a Cannister tunnel.. But I've been unable to get any info on What cannister to buy for what purpose.. Also what header.. And a website or Price...

Can anyone help out?

I just called DA to ask about pitts mufflers. They said that the DA muffler is nothing but an exhaust diverter and is very loud. The Slimline is much quieter while turning only 100 less RPM. Hope this helps.

Thanks Joe,

I don't really have any noise restrictions. And to me 100 RPM is 100 RPM...So I think the Slimline is out... Now I just gotta find out if 1.) the DA muffler will fit in cowl 2.) If the CAN is a better choice

Ice-man,

The Pitts (Slimline) is very heavy!!!! The DA Muffler is very light, Very nicely made, and is a muffler.

BR, Mark

ICE MAN,

I started out with the stock DA50 muffler on my WH Edge. It IS loud. A bit louder than a B&B on a G62 if you ask me. I put the Slimline Pitts on and have no regrets at all. Especially TR'ing down on the deck!

When the time comes and if you end up going with the stock muffler, drop me a line and I'll save you a few $$.
