Nobody's got it because it doesn't exist yet - not production versions anyway. Forget about predicting availability. Most of the parts are outsourced, so they're at the mercy (and production schedule) of their suppliers. In most parts of the country it's the end of flying season anyway. What's your rush? Call BME and put yourself on a waiting list if you want one. Same story for the BME-55.

Just about the buy a 35% giles and wanting a good twin for it, and like the extra cc's that it would give over a da or 3w. I would like a zdz 100, but havent heard of one person running it, so dont know how it compares to anything else

Keith said it should be out LATE Nov. As mentioned though, some of the parts are outsourced so it may be another month after that. I really hope not though because I am on the list for 2 55 and they are due AFTER the 110.
I am also going to be looking at getting a 110 later next year for a 33% Aeroworks Edge. I think with this engine I should be able to get the plane very near 22 pounds with ALL the goodies you would want to put in a plane.

The ZDZ-100 isn't yet available in the US, so that's why you haven't heard any reports. They seem to be better at predicting availability of their new engines. When they say "within a few weeks" they mean it. Call up RCS and ask how soon.

A good 100---
strange how we look at 100's.
is a 110 a 100?
if so, isn't an 80 about a 100?
My favorite 100 is a 80 single .
Why? similar power , good operation and at half the price.
That makes it good 100.
But I guess if I wanted a 100 with outstanding power -I would get a 120
My point in all of this -is that when you decide which engine you really want -for your application- look at the whole package: size, availability, weight performance and last but definately not least -- price .
In the barrel of apples called "100'' size engines, there are plenty of choices.

I've held one, and it is so small it doesn't seem like it could be a 100 (or 110 or whatever) cc engine..

O.K. time for stupid questions;
based on the photos in the above link, the prop mount is still using a single bolt attachment. I have seen a number of the BME 102 at our club field that use this same method. It seems that the guys flying these have do a lot of checking/re-tightening compared to the six bolt mounts on the DA or ZDZ. SOOO
Is this really the best prop mount system?
Is it safe on an engine of this size?
Just curious, since I will be in the market next spring.

a single 3/8-24 grade 8 bolt holds the prop on our 35 hp 289cc race eng.........I don't think a 10 hp engine will break a 3/8 stud, unless not tightened enough...
If the guys at the field are using wood props the checking is required..The wood compresses and the six bolts loosen and shear off...But not from too much power, just too loose...

I have owned two BME twins and the only problem I have had with the single bolt hub is when using an aluminum spinner. The spinner backplate moves relative to the hub no matter how tight the nut is tightened.
My fix is to drill and tap (8-32) the hub at two places, 180 degrees apart, and install short socket head capscrews in the holes. Match drill the spinner backplate just larger than the screw head. This keyes the backplate in place with the hub.
Wood props work fine using this method. C/F props seem to require drilling through the prop washer and prop and installing longer screws through all parts to keep everything is it's proper location.
I mentioned this to Keith and thought he was going to incorporate the tapped holes in future production. I can't tell from the pix on the website if the Extreme has them or not.

I talked to Keith this morning and he said they have about 220 people already on the waiting list for the 110. They will start shipping in April but they wouldn't be able to get me an engine until late May at the earliest.
They are also out of the 102's at the moment, waiting for Cranks to come in. He said it will probably be the end of March before they start shipping 102's again.
I decided to put my name in for a 102 for my Carden 35% Extra 300s.
