Default Cowl Attachment/ 96" Warbird

Building Vailley's Tempest, with the weight of the cowl, what would be a good way to secure the cowl to the Fuz. I mean it is heavy and probably needs to be wrt balance, but I am used to typically light fine F/G cowls & small screws & wood blocks. A sketch or photo would help. Many thanks

Hi,
You could attach an aluminum bracket to the engine forward portion of the crankcase, which will support the cowl along with the usual firewall mounts. It would also help maintain flywheel clearence if you have one. Using two or three spaced out screws in the bracket would help support the heavy cowl.
