Default Redline Oil Ratio?

Some time ago, during my last gasser-episode when I was running only ZDZ's and Taurus-es, I happened along Redline, mixing it at 50-1. The label says anything up to 100:1, and the BME I have now says "mix per oil manufacturer's recommendations".

1. Is "Redline" passe these days?
2. Is Mobil MX2T "the oil to run" ?
3. Is the Amsoil cult following still so strong as to provoke heresy to ask if it's used as much as ever?

Do oil ratio differences produce any differences in setting idle and controlling transistion???

Redline still very good stuff, so is the belray mc-1, and the mobil is good too. Most run redline either 40:1 or 50:1, bel ray mc-1 at 50:1, mobil 32-50:1. Just personal preference. If you have the redline, run it.

I ran the Redline Allsport at 50:1 for a season - wore out a crankpin. My WAG is that the viscosity is too thin. Also my friends and I noticed that "something" settles out to the bottom of a bottle of Allsport - not an isolated case. Switched to Honda HP2 at 32:1...no wear problems. Then switched to Mobil at 32:1...no wear problems and costs less than the Honda oil.

the redline most use is the racing 2 stroke oil, not the allsport.

I've been running the Redline and Motul 800 for almost two years now at 80-1. I haven't found a reason to change.

Hey Silver! Is that mix RedLine or Motul 800 okay for a DA-50?

Hi AJ, how's Phoenix?

I can't speak for DA on the oil mix. I do know that 3W approves it at a 50-1 ratio, but that's all the written approvals I'm aware of. If I had a DA I would call them up and get their approval to avoid any warranty issues in the future. If you do run the Redline, make sure it's the racing two stroke, not the standard stuff.
