Default "Tuning Extension" for Walbro Carbs?

Hello,

I recently purchased a plane that has a Quadra 75 with a Walbro carb. The "H" and "L" adjustment needles face towards the rear of the plane and are difficult to access. I don't think I could adjust them with the engine running without some type of extension. Does anyone know if such an extension is available and from where? I am envisioning some type of flexible cable or tube that would fit over the adjustment needle and extend downward and backward to allow me to safely adjust one needle at a time while the engine is running.

Thanks,

-Ed

There was a product called a "Snake Drive" that looked like a speedometer cable with fittings on the ends..[8D]

Hi Ed,
The problem is that if you extend the needles, you invite the tendency for them the drift during operation due to vibration. Some folks have cut down long needles to cure this problem. B&B makes a small tuning tool that slips over the needles to allow easy tuning. Once the carb is set for your location, you seldom have to tune again.

Hi Dave,

I was thinking about a tuning tool that would be attached temporarily for tuning and then removed, exactly as you described. What is "B&B"?

"B&B" is Dick Bennetts( Bennett Built) place. I just happened to order one of his carb adjusting tools and a prop drill yesterday. Take a look - neat stuff.
