Default MVVS 1.60 = YS 1.10?

Hi!

I´m thinking to get MVVS 1.60 gasser or YS 160DZ (Don´t worry, I can throttle back - this can be used in my bigger planes in the future, and it weighs the same as 140DZ) on my 3D Funtana 90S plane, but dunno which one to select. At least I would need the power of YS 1.10, so does MVVS 1.60 gasser (with pipe or without) deliver the same power as YS 1.10? Do they have the same torq and accelaration? I will use 18" props..

Many thanks in advance for your help.

The MVVS will power a Funtana 90 just fine, as long as you stay clear of in-cowl mufflers and use at least a canister for 35cc engines.
Same power and torque curves?
Ever heard of the apple vs pears story?

frankly -I would opt for the 26 gasser n pipe - on the Funtana -If you can't do it at aprox 10 lbs --somthing is wrong
honest 10,000+ in air -level flight on Skorepa 18x6 (same as JAS) a tiny gas tank (10 ozs) is plenty.
I would suspect the performance to be similar with my EVO26---------

I've got a YS 110 on my Funtana and it weights 8 lbs 13 oz. It will hover at 1/3 throttle and shoot out of a hover and keep going as fast as it does on level flight. The only thing I don't like is the clean up. [&:]Whats the cost differance between the YS and gas burner?

How much thrust can you get out of MVVS 160 with pipe (prop dia 16, 17 or 18", which ever gives better result in 3D)?

Oh, has any one ever heard who wan the fight between apple and pear (I cheer up for pears - as they simply taste much better)?

Not to take anything away from the video--
The 10.2 lb Showtime I am flying w/EVO26 w/ 18x6 wooden Skorepa goes straight up -instantly (auf einmal!) from any hover .
Also betting that my ears are still working -I am turning a lot more rpm (10000 in air)
The pipe on the model did not look like the pipe for that engine.

The engine was run on a KS canister, not a tuned pipe. In the video, there was not a single moment that full throttle was applied from the hover.
Since I received glowing reports from the pilot, I guess it is hard to discriminate exactly what is what, just from watching a video. What the video does show however, is that you can 3D an 11 lbs plane quite nicely with a 1.60 gas engine, even when it is not tuned to best performance.

The "magic " setup -I find-is the Skorepa 18x6 on the factory pipe - absolute vertical acceleration from hover.-It doeseasily run over 10000 rpm in level flight - Iam running 32-1 Mobil and so far -- nothing is coming loose. A wee bit of rod bearing clearance -has stayed constant from new .
This engine and my new ZDZ80 are -to me- a fair cut above the norm.

You can here the sound of the engine. I could easily tell that he wasn't hovering at full throttle. There is one point in the video where he points the nose up and hammers it. You can easily hear the engine pick up revs and it sounds like MAYBE at that point he was at full throttle.

It was a LOT more RPM and noise than when he was hovering.

Watch and listen carefully. He uses full throttle once---or close to full throttle. But, NOT when pulling out from a hover.

That plane has plenty of HP.

Is there any fuel pump in this petrol engine?

Does it pick up the rev instantly after long idle?

Is 98 octane better than 95 in this engine?

Is there 2 kind of petrol MVVS 1.60 (1 for sport and 1 for compitition)?

What´s the BEST 3D tuning to this engine (best carb, best pipe, best fuel, best plug, best oil, best prop size/maker, etc) - would like to beat YS 1.10 or get as close as possible to it?

How big tank is needed for 10 min 3D (need some idea)?

How big tank is needed for 15 min 3D?

Don't worry guys,
I will answer all mail in due time to the best of my ability. I may take a bit longer when items are not in stock. Please have mercy on me.
I do not like PM's. I need my own friends mail archive.
