I have had better luck with Tygon. It gets hard and needs to be replaced occasianally, but every time I used neoprene, it turned to mush. May be the fuel additives in my area.

I like neoprene better. It's more flexible, and I haven't had any problems with compatibility.

My tygon inside the tank gets so stiff that the clunk won't move. this is after only a few months. The guy at the small engine shop said it is due to the high ethanol content we get in pump gas here (everything has 10% ethanol). I just switched to the black neoprene inside the tank. too early to report.

Here is a picture of the fuel tubing from inside the tank. You can see it is standing straight out.

Easy Flex Aerotrend - Blue
I am using Easy Flex blue gas/diesel tubing from Aerotrend for clunk and the line to the carb. The Easy Flex is very similar to yellow tygon, but is blue instead of yellow and is far more flexible (and stays that way longer than Tygon).

Neoprene - Black
For the tee fitting to the fuel dot for the fill line, I use neoprene since it's much easier to get off the fuel dot than the stiff tygon or Easy Flex.

Yellow Tygon
I save the yellow Tygon for vent lines.

Viton - recently purchased some lengths of Viton line from McMaster Carr. It's a bit too stiff for a clunk line, but I will begin to use it on the fill line.

The black neoprene "Hayes Products" works great for every application...The small diameter is more than large enough for ANY gasser made...There is a common misconception that small fuel line causes leaning out...MYTH....These are not glow engines and don't need large lines...If a gasser can't be set rich with the small fuel line the problem is elsewhere...The hole in the carb under the inlet needle is smaller than the I D of the line..Fuel is pulled into the carb through that hole..A garden hose won't put any more fuel in the carb....[8D]

Robby,
Try Venture Hobbies, I think they have it.
I visited the one in Elmhurst last year, but I don't think he carries much for gassers

Hello,

I have used the Aerotrend Easyflex (blue stuff) for fuel lines (and clunk lines) and so far it has stayed flexible. I use the yellow tygon for the vent line because I like having two different colors for the fuel and vent lines. I also like being able to see whether fuel is in the line. In addition to buying it from Aerotrend directly per the link from HTH, Tower Hobbies sells it.

Robby, yup, I guess I forgot to subscribe to this thread so Geistware jumped in before I could. Dang....I hate that!!

VENTURE HOBBIES...you betcha. The legend lives. 4 minutes from my house if I don't really stop at the lights, officer.....and directly on my way home from work every day. Hee hee hee......

So.....I'm there virtually every day...essentially I've become the store mascot, and best unpaid employee they have. The Aerotrend stuff is in the 4th aisle on the right side of the store... go all the way down the aisle, and the tubing is on the right side, 2 feet from the end of the aisle, just past the Dubro fuel tanks. It's not as if I don't have the entire store memorized or anything.....

Ralph, I use the Hayes line for my neoprene. It's really excellent stuff all around and, much better than the others I've tried. And, while I've not had issues with it (other than it's not transparent), there are a few reports of it turning mushy in some areas of the country, unfortunately.
