ZDZ 80 RV needle settings
Hi,
I have a ZDZ 80 RV engine with a Walbro carburetor. The engine is 2 years old but had never been run. It started fine the first time but the idle was too high even with the butterfly fully closed.
I had to turn the low needle out about 1/4 turn to get a low idle. The motor runs fine at the current settings high 5/8 low 2 1/4 turns. I have about 1.5 gallons of fuel through the engine. The manual calls for 1.5 turns on both needles and shows a Bing carb. I am amazed that the engine runs so well considering the difference between the current setting and the recommended factory setting . My question is : Are the needle settings the same on a Walbro and a Bing carb ?
