Default BME 50 or ZDZ 60?

Any thoughts or comments between which engine to use on a 82" 15-17lb giles? Thinking the BME 50 or ZDZ 60 if thats not overkill, thanks

Either engine would work well for this plane. I personally like the ZDZ because of their price and the fantastic service that RC Showcase provides. I'd give Mike a call he will be more than happy to help. I think they have a ZDZ-50 out as well as a 44cc twin. Give him a call he is always interesting to talk to.

For a 15-17 lb plane, I'd go with a 50cc motor. Power will be plenty and the wing loading will be less than with a bigger motor.

Default Ditto to The 50!

I agree with Diablo. I have two BME 50's and they are light and powerful. I have them both in the Aeroworks 29% Edge and the BME has plenty of verticle swinging a Mezlik 22x8.
They also start easy and very reliable (never had a dead stik).

The bme 50s like the 22x8 more than the 22x10?

Default Both work well

Both props work well. Had the 22x10 Mezlik on the other 50 and really couldn't tell that much diff. I due prefer the 22x8 though.
You can buy the BME at BME in Waco or Don's Hobby Shop in Salinas, Kansas. $499.00 w.o./muffler. I used the Bisson muffler on both.

Default Nope

I use LawnBoy Ashless 40:1. Kieth recommends this oil for breakin. I'll probably just keep on using it. Don't listen to all the this oil is better crap. Any good quality oil will work.
