BME 110 starting problem

Geistware,
RTK is running his 110 at about 77-1 using Amsoil. I run 80-1 Redline Racing oil in my Brisons. Both have pretty happy spark plugs, and in three years I have had no engine problems due to oiling. A few prop strikes (G/P Pitts) on one of the 3.2's caused a bearing to come apart, but other than that no problems.
RTK's engine would not go 4 stroke rich even with the needles removed from the engine, so the theory was that the carb jets in that particular cab could not deliver enough fuel to the engine to meet the need. Hence the idea to drill out the jets. The proceedure seems to have worked perfectly, and the engine runs like a dream. Well enough that I'm going to be making a change from Brison to BME for my next 100 plus cc engine.

I had put 495 flights on my BME engine with Amsoil mixed at 95:1.
Never had a problem. Engine was adjusted lean on the idle and rich at WOT.
I know it was lean because a 1/8th turn would cause the engine to hesitate and sometime cut off with fast advance of throttle.
It had the idle down problem consistantly and was very noticable. Now I had it rebuilt to a 105 and using lawnboy at 32:1. It is rich on the idle and just right at WOT. Other than the shakes, and the loading up with long idles, then engine runs great and is stronger than it was before. Definately more RPM at WOT. It still has the idle down issue but not nearly as bad as before. I think if the idle jets were opened, it would help to eliminate this problem. I will not do that. I have gotten use to it and just work around it.
