Ralph,

Looks like the prop hub is longer than your normal converted ones. Is this just an optical illusion because of the different shape? Does it still take the 10mm prop bolt?

Takes the same bolt. It could be about 1/2' shorter..The end of the crank is about 1" down in the hole..Overall length is about the same as the others, 6 1/2"

Does this one have electronic advance ignition? I don't see your mechanical advance linkage......

SynchroSpark is CH's auto advance and it works very well, unless Ralph has his own Synchro now.

I was just going to say that! You need to polish the case and fins till you can see yourself in it, move the carb to the ass, and replace that D-Size cup mount with some petit anodized legs.

And call it... RC62.

Hence the fanciful name, G62SLSSEI MK1..The SS is syncro spark..There is a ring pressed onto the front case under the hub..A hall sensor goes in there, you can see the grommet in the rear case where the wire goes through..It didn't get put in yet....Also the carb in the picture is mounted on a scrap rotator block with the holes in the wrong place, and there's no pulse line from the fitting on the front case to the rear cover on the carb...Got in a hurry to put the picture on here.[8D]
The syncro version is lighter because there's no ball bearing on the crank for the mechanical advance, and some lightening holes in the 2 pieces of the hub...Also a lighter mount with slightly thinner walls and square instead of round....It could be a little lighter with a CM6 spark plug and shielded wire, eliminating the outside spark coil and associated lugs on the case...The inside spark coil would be lighter too... 3 lbs 14 oz maybe ?
Maybe some aluminum bolts for the case and cylinder from a 3W....

Now you're starting to make this real tempting...........All that's lacking is the 4 bolt prop washer to match the DA50. Same props, just an extra 4 or 500 rpm's.

Careful, some DA fanatic will come on here and say his DA is stronger... [8D]It has a 4 bolts holding the 2 pieces together, I just made it the same size as the G62 because I LIKE single bolts better
I always wondered if syncro spark was a name invented by C&H ? I guess I could name it something else, like Controlled Automated Electronic Spark Advance and Retard, or CAESAR..
How about I paint the cases and cylinder with black wrinkle and polish the edges of the fins?
And use chrome plated bolts ? Call it a "presentation" model and tack on another $100.?
Have some CNC cases made and say I "made" the engine just for RC airplanes ?
Polish the CNC cases like a Fox engine ? I have a 4.8 Fox twin here like that, looks pretty good...
Turn half of the fins off to save even more weight ? Every ounce counts

Nope, plain old industrial based overweight underpowered G62 airplane engine...the backpack blower is heavier, with 2 bearings on the front of the crank and a completely different cylinder..The spark plug sticks straight up, the cylinder is completely different and the case is square on the back..Better for conversion than the chainsaw case, it can be mounted direct without a special plate...I have a few new short block blower engines to convert, but haven't finished them yet....
Here's an unfinished one..

Old age sometimes causes that
Yours looks longer because of the bearing with the sensor ring behind the hub....Upside down or rightside up

Thanks, Pushrod02[8D]

You have to wait until he gets the CM6 plug and shielded cable on it to ask that question.

What I like about that motor is I know I can fly, fly, fly, fly, fly fly and fly some more. It won't break, or fall apart. It will start all the time ( Unless Ralph makes a mistake) And look at that, its light

Also nothing like a good old G62!

I'm interested also. I have a plane that needs an engine and at 4lbs this fits the bill nicely...

CCT.... Computer Controlled Timing
Call it an RCI 3.7ei That way you can hide its industrial origins, and call it a purpose built Model engine.
Wrinkle finish and polished fins sounds good too. But you need Ti bolts. Put it in a mill and drill holes down through the all the fins, so you can decrease the smooth air flow across the fins and increase the cooling after you have turned them down

looks like I created a monster...How about $525 with a standard spark plug, $550 with a CM6 ? Gotta make an adapter and get a cap from Bobby at 3W or Dave at DA..Or $175 on yours ?
Must be worth as much as a DA50.
