Default gas fuel tank

OK. I'm setting up my first gasoline fuel tank. I've got a few questions. It's a 50 ounce tank with the yellow Tygon fuel tubing, and the gas stopper:

1. Should the clunk fall to the front of the tank on a downline? If so, how can I make it do that? I've tried...

2. Can I use zip ties for fuel hose clamps?

3. My engine already has the fuel nipple on the carb where the diaphram is. This is so that during flight the pressure on the diaphram doesn't change. You are supposed to attach a piece of fuel tubing to that nipple and run the other end somewhere inside the fuse. What is the maximum length I can use? The way my plane was built (Lion Air Extra 300L, fiberglass fuse, fiberglass engine box...) I will have to use a length of fuel tubing that is around 2 feet to get the other end inside the fuse. I'm concerned about making it too hard for the diaphram to work.

Thanks for any and all help!!
