Default Da ign and Li-batteries

Hi All
Am I safe to run a li-ion battery and regulator with a Da-100 ignition?

I read somewhere a regulator is bad for 3w ignitions.

Thanks in advance

Bill

The newer 3W ignitions should not use regulation, but the older ones (blue dot, etc) still need it. The DA ignition runs best on 4.8V, so use a 4.8V regulator and you will be fine. If you use a 6V regulator the module will run hot and the life will be reduced... don't ask me how I know that...

I run my 3Ws direct and my DAs all run on 4.8V
