Default ZDZ ignition wire- can this be fixed?

I destroyed my favorite plane the other day and was doing an autopsy yesterday and found the igition wire torn off where it goes onto the spark plug. Can this be put back on or am I going to have to buy a new ignition? Thanks. Rusty[img][/img]

I'd replace it. That doesn't look like it would repair too easily. That shield keeps RF noise from getting into your radio gear, if it's compromised it could cause lots of RF (and hence another crash).

Send it back to ZDZ and let them just put a new spark plug wire on it .

I had a similar problem with my wire. They told me they can't fix it and have to buy a new one.

Do I have to buy an entire new ignition? The other end doesn't seem replaceable either. Rusty

FWIW, CH Electronics ignitions are made and REPAIRED right here in WY. Leads are a common replacement item. RC ignitions are made and REPAIRED in AZ.

If the ignition is OK and the wire that plugs into the box is OK, a 3W or DA cap will repair the spark plug end....don't know what they cost, somewhere around $20.....

OOPS..Yup, forgot...With the adapter from TKG and the CM6 spark plug it will not come off like the original with the setscrew or hose clamp, and you don't have to cut the top off the spark plug....
