I've been fighting with an older Quadra 42 trying to establish reasonable spark and not doing well..............I usually work on stuff till it won't work anymore..........I was about to give up and send it off to the service center (B & B Specialities)........I went on line to get the address and necessary info.......so I decided to surf Dick Bennet's site while I was there......he's got the coolest little gadget that screws on the firewall and wires into the coil that eliminates the points and condensor. In essence you can change your old technology ignition over to electronics for $15 and shipping. I talked to Dick himself about it and he said it produces good spark at about 200-300 rpm......so hand prop and spring start is doable. And he probably has a bunch of other stuff you can't live without so you can spread the $7.50 shipping out on several treasures.........and if you call at lunch time you may catch Dick minding the phone which is a bonus cause he is a real nice guy and very willing to help you wage war on your RC gremlins.....damn gremlins....

The thing works well. It plugs into the lead from the points to the coil ..There is a + and - on the case...If the engine doesn't work right at first, switch the leads...[8D]
