What gas engine do any of you recommend for a Sig Extra 300?
I have flown alot of airplanes but never had a gas engine.
Knowing nothing about gas, whats the best bang for the buck?

Do a search in the arf forum and you will find a ton of info on this topic. I flew mine with a brison 2.4 and loved it.

Any 2.4 will do fine. Some have gone the route of trying to reduce weight and have gone with the FPE and use carbon fiber landing gear. I have one with a Fox 2.4 and it pulls very hard with a Pro Zinger 20x8 at 7700rpm.

P.S. don't listen to commentsa about gas being wrong for this plane, Sig reccomends a 2.4 and it does just fine.

Absolutely - mine was a blast with FPE 2.4 - 6800-7200 rpm with 20x10 depending upon type of prop.....no bad flying habits!
