Anyone got anything good/bad to say about these? The specs say stump puller, even if they are a little heavy this is looking like my choice for a first big gasser.

I have one that should be hitting the air this weekend. I'm using KS1060's as it is going into a 36-37lb airplane. I guess we will see if it is the stump puller it is supposed to be, if not in goes a DA 150. I'll keep you posted on how it works as I will be trying a couple different props fuchs 27x12x3 and a mej 30x10.

You should find the Mejzlik 30x10 just perfect for that weight range with the 116GX. The factory pipes produce 6100 to 6200 on the Mejzlik. Let us know what you see with your setup. On the 34 pound model it is a rocket.

I have the factory cans as well. The only thing I need to figure out is the headers as the standard headers won't work due to the drop so I need to fab some so I will be placing an order with DA tomorrow. So I will probably try both out to see what produces more power.

Did you get yout 116 in the air this weekend? Very interested in anything you'd have to report.

Ran into 2 small problems this weekend. First I am making up a new set of headers for this as the set that came with my engine wont work due to the drop and second we had the first rain out here in the desert for 143 days and it rain the whole time so it will push me back until at least Wednesday.

Well unfortunatly it decided to rain again this weekend. Seems like it only wants to rain out here when I'm ready to go fly but per the weather man we are supposed to have a great weekend around 80 degrees or so. I will keep you updated.

Well I got one flight with the MVVS last weekend on a 37 lb plane. It was spinning a Fuchs 27x12x3 at 5800 and flew the plane pretty well. I will be changing props and then getting in some good flying on friday so I will keep you guys updated.

I'm putting on a 2 blade so I will be able to answer your question Friday afternoon, didn't try any 3d on the 3 blade.

OK well no video as we were just having to much fun flying today. Put the mej 30x10 on as as promissed I was at 6100 rpm with the MVVS cans. First thing I will say is this is not as strong as a 150 but I can guarantee it is stronger than any 140 out there. It is probably the smoothest transitioning engine I have ever run. The mid-range is so dam smooth and very easy to find the sweet spot while hovering it. Is it 3d strong enough, the answer is yes. I wasn't sure what to believe about these MVVS 116's and was a little sceptical about them being strong enough to pull a 40%er around but there is no lacking on the vertical, it will honestly pull the plane out of site. I just can't wait to get this broken in and see what it really can do. But I give it an A+
