Default brison 2.4

I can get a 2.4 at a decent price is the brison a good engine for a 14lb model? compare to a FPE 2.4? It has a airhobbies ignition on it if that is any diffrent then the CH.
Thanks for any info..

Default 2.4

I have a pitts that weighs 15lbs and it flys great. it does not have unlimited vrt with a 20x10 prop but it will hang on the prop. My brison only has 2 gal. of gas run in it.so it is not broke in yet. I also had a sig extra with a 2.4 in it and it had unlimited vert. The plane weighed 14.5 lbs

IMO the Brisson 2.4, and the Fox 2.4 (which are almost identicle) are both more powerful than the FPE 2.4. The FPE weighs a few ounces less than the Brisson or the Fox, but that doesn't mean much when the Brisson and Fox will turn on the average 500 to 700rpm higher.

I have two of them.
One new and the other with over 100 flights on it (10 plus gallons) and with a 20x8 propeller it is AWESOME.

15lbs will be no problem.

Default Just found out

This engine is actually a A&M sachs just prior to selling to Brison. I am guessing they are the same. Some Crank ? are on threads though.
Any more thoughts?

Both the Brisson and the Fox are quite similiar to the older A&M Sachs. I had an A&M 2.0 for a while until I got my first Fox 2.4. It looked a lot like the Brisson and Fox. Fox says it uses a Makita Dolmar cylinder on their engines....just food for thought.

I would stay away from the A&M 2.4 engine. I've seen too many problems with bearings. This is not the case with Brison engines. Brison bought out A&M but the engines are not the same.
