How many do you want ?? I just received one, can get more...
They look just like the old G23 but have a new cylinder and carb, and a 10mm resistor NGK spark plug..It has a velocity stack...
Recommended props are 18-6 or 16-8..A new NGK resistor spark plug...CMR7H...It has a very long thread, so might not work in other cylinders without a spacer.
Weight 3 lbs 10 oz with the new 2 tube compact muffler..
Testing will be done this weekend with stock mag ignition and with my CD electronic ignition..It will weigh under 3 1/2 with CD ignition....The carb is new and has a choke...It will need an different spacer block to be able to connect without a bell crank...Mine will have a spacer block made from 3/8" G10 epoxy board, no bell crank required...

well anyhow, it should work fine with a spacer right?

guess we don't have to worry about that unshielded plug wire on the G26

The porcelain may be too long for the shielded caps now made for the CM6...NGK makes a bakelite resistor cap, not shielded.......there is no mention of this plug on any NGK website...

well the metal cap is a pain to take on and off anyhow, if it would work with the resistor plug, and unshielded, I'd go for that.

Tipover...I looked at the plug wrong, the number is CMR7H..Don't know where the other number came from..
The new CMR7H has the same porcelain as the BMR series, so a standard rubber cap fits..Dimensions..
CM6..About 1 inch from base to top, 9/16 hex, .475 from bottom to side electrode...
CMR7H..1 7/16 from base to top, 5/8 hex, 5/8 from base to side electrode...
Both plugs have a 10mm thread.....
NGK has a resistor cap that will fit, about $14.95, not shielded....

A WINNER !!! Just ran my new G26..Temp 40 degrees, altitude 7000 feet, fuel 100-1 Amsoil and 87 octane pump gas, TNC tach..WITH their new quiet muffler....Runs smooth, hand starts easily...
18-8 Zinger 6500 rpm
18-6 Zinger 8300 rpm..This will be THE prop size to use for thrust...
These numbers will be at least 400 better at lower altitudes and will increase slightly with some time on the engine..And a better prop..
Weight is about 3 lbs 11 oz with muffler....My conversion should bring the weight down to around 3 lbs without muffler.....
The optimistic ThrustHp chart shows 22 lbs thrust with the 18-6 at 8300 rpm...
It will be converted this weekend, both glow and CD electronic ignition...A G23 glow weighs much less and makes more power.
Am I impressed ?? YOU BETCHA !!
Update. 12/7/02....Now turning 9000 rpm with the 18-6, no muffler..

Currently have a G-23 gas on a 16 pound airplane and it flys o.k., but is little underpowered. Thinking about putting a G-26 on another 16 pound 1/5 scale bi-plane, is the power output
of the G-26 signifcant enough to consider? If so, where did you get your G-26, I heard they would not be available until Feburary of 2003.

Longshanks.....

I think they're going to cost $299.95 retail....
I want to give some of the Zenoah doubters (too heavy and underpowered) who compare stock mag ignition Zenoah engines to their "super whiz bang made for airplanes only" (with CHAINSAW cylinders) engines a little competition..If I can get more they will be $350.00 converted...
I just heard the same thing , maybe no more until February..Guess I got lucky....

rcign

What were the numbers for the G23 at the same size Props, I have never used props that big on the G23, I current run My G23 on a 10Lb 6 oz plane using 15X8 props turning up to 9400 rpm . using 40-1 Klotz

Default Overweight underpowered Zenoah indeed !

I saw 8200 on an older style converted to glow, 10% nitro..
Gassers generally run 7000+ on an 18-6 up here...
I put the 18-6 prop on a G38 today, got 8700 rpm, 200 LESS than the G26...
I have just converted the 26 to ignition, it now weighs 40 ounces(sounds better than 2 1/2 lbs) INCLUDING the ignition (but without the muffler)which is inside the rear case where the flywheel once was....Bigger diameter props give better thrust, but the airspeed goes way down....The 18-6 looks best for thrust....

WOW--what a difference--My stock G23 with a Zinger (standard) only turns 6600 RPM. That is quite a difference.

Surprised me too...The case looks just like the G23 but the transfers are way bigger..The crank and rod may be the same, but the new carb and cylinder really work...The piston ring is really thin, less friction than the older 2 ring type..Zenoah did their homework on this one....I have a Phaeton 90 bipe that mine will end up on...Can't wait to see it in the air !!

Ralph, how does the G26 compare to the new Quarda Aerrow 25cc? Have you had time to test it yet?

Dave Abell can probably make one if you send him the muffler gasket and some info about the size you want...
I think Abell Manufacturing is the name of the company....He does very nice work and is reasonable....
