Default DA- 100 mounts?

Youve seen the advertisements on this forum for the Aerographics(sp?) engine standoffs. Well i just bought a DA-100 for my H9 cap 232 33%. Do any of you have the same setup for your H9 cap? If you do how long were your engine standoffs? This is our 1st very Large plane and a 2 year project and we are not sure how to measure the length of standoff we need to clear the cowl.
Thanx for your answers in advance.

Lanche

Default DA- 100 mounts?

Hey Avalanche123
I made mine out of three dollars worth of red oak, and I think they are 2 9/16" off the fire wall. I will try and confirm that later today. The DA100 Is an aewsome engine!!

Call Aerographix, he might just have that info already as the H9 Cap and DA100 are a popular combo. His standoffs are really nice. I plan to get a set for my H9 Cap/ZDZ80 this winter.

Default DA- 100 mounts?

2 year project for an ARF???
You get my award for the world's slowest builder.

Mount the cowl to the fuselage.
Put a ruler flush against the firewall sticking out of the cowl.
Take a measurement to the nose ring on the cowl and add 1/8th inch.
Measure the length of the engine from the back of the mount to the front face of the prop driver - or check DA's website for this info.
Subtract the 2 measurements.
That's how long the standoffs need to be.

Hey im only 15 gimme a break
Thanx for the info though.

As for talking to Aerografix, i already did and he only told me that people give him measurements for the standoff and do not tell him what combo it is for.
Ill try doing what Diablo said and stomper, ill see if those measurements are the same.

Thanx again
Lanche

Default DA- 100 mounts?

Hey Avalanche123

Sorry for the delay, Mine measure 1 7/8" off the fire wall, that gives 3/32" between the cowl and the spinner. Hope this helps!
If you want a pair made up let me know.
