Well after turning a Bme 24/10 really well in the 6s I tached my motor yesterday and found it was turning only 5700, not much adjustment on the high neeedle.
Today I flew it again and noticed a deeper sound to it, as if the muffler had come loose. Landed and after taking off the cowl noticed that the gasket between the crank and cylinder was blown out. Bolts apear tight still.
Amazing thing is like this it started easier and didnt run backwards like it usually does.
Im thinking the backwards running may all be linked?
Had just run through the breakin oil supplied.
Any thoughts on the cause?[

I am running a Mejzlik 24-10 on mine and turning about 57-5800 rpm's. I am in about the same spot as you recently finished the break in oil and found little adjustment on the high end, did not seem to matter where I moved the needle to it made little difference in rpm. My base gasket has not been blown out and is not leaking yet, but has recently developed a nasty little habit of starting in reverse
