Default What is it??????

I bought this engine on a plane verry cheap with my Midwest Cap in mind, but I have no idea what it is to get a muffler or other parts for it should I need them. The engine ran pretty good on a short test run. The bore and stroke measure out roughly the same as a Zenoah G-38 or G-45. There is a large "E" "M" or "W" on the head and the only other markings on it are "cm10" on one crankcase half and "cm11" on the other and it has a prestolite coil and flywheel. The mount looks homemade. Thank you for your input.

Thanks, AJC, but I don't think it is, it looks more like some kind of conversion. There is no kind of regular mount molded into the case.

Not a made for airplanes Quadra, but a utility engine (like from a power ice auger). The head and case are definitely 100% Quadra industrial engine. Had a few... someone added the prop driver and mount.

Thanks AJC. I wasn't aware that Quadra made other engines too. Now all I have to do is find an exhaust for it. Do you think it will be a good engine for a midwest cap? Willie.

I think I would want more power than a 35cc gas engine (and a heavy one at that) on an 80 inch cap. But I am sure it would fly it, just not with too much authority.

Thanks guys, I have a nib magnum 1.80 that is my other choice, but I thought this one would give me about the same performance, but be a little cheaper on fuel. This engine was on a Bud Nosen stick when I got it. 9+ foot wing. and had a 18/6 prop that it swings at 1200+ rpm.Willie.

That cyl bolts to crankcase. Q35-42 are one piece. Can't see enough details to tell what it is. Coil is to far off to right for Quadra 35 too. Possible Mc Colough but not sure.

Anybody ever heard of a Remington???? That is what I think it is--but I am not totally sure. They were clones of a G38--rear exhaust and the same flywheel and mag. You had to make your own mount though. Only seen a couple of them.

Almost forgot---Check to see if a G38 muffler bolts up to it--if it does, you got a Remington.

Hi,
Do you have any idea where I can find a Bud Nosen Giant Stick? Is A&A out of business?
