Default Fuji vs Zenoah

I am looking at the GP Ultimate 1.6. Debating between the Fuji 43, Fuji 50 or a Zenoah 45. Help me out , what wre the pros/cons of these engines. I have no experience with the Fuji engines. I have owned a couple of Zenoahs and have had good experiences with them. I am not especially interested in 3d, mostly IMAC style aerobatics.

There's no comparison. Get the Zenoah.

I also agree, I got the Fuji 43 for mine and its been a horrible experience! Ive got RFI issues that can't seem to be resolved, install is textbook correct and can't pass a range test 10 feet from plane.... Sent the engine back to Hobby Services and was told to move rx battery back, its already under the canopy! They shipped the engine back to me on the 14th and still haven't received it, I hope UPS drove over it!!!!!!! BUY A DA 50! Larry

TSuppa,

These same guys convinced me on the Zenoah G62 and I'm sure glad they did. I'm just curious, why if you have two great engines would you change to the Fuji? I have read some pretty bad things about their vibration problems.

TSuppa,

I have a Fuji 43 installed in a GP Ultimate. We regards to operability, this engine has been as easy to start and operate as my two DA50s. Starts within four to five flips after the initial choke sequence. It has never quit in the air and is relatively economical (I get close to a 20 minute flight on a 16oz. tank). I am using a Multiplex RX-9 PPM/IPD (non PCM) receiver to fly the Ultimate and have had zero interference problems or reduced range. The ignition is powered by a 1100 mAH NiCD battery installed under the cockpit (for CG). It is now running on AMSOIL 80:1. I used a couple gallons Lawnboy ashless at 32:1 for breakin. It idles at around 1600RPM with good transition. Not as powerful as the DA50, however, it does turn an NX 21X8 at 6600RPM. This is plenty of power for the Ultimate if you are interested in Pattern/IMAC type flying. Keep the total weight of the airplane under 14.5lbs and the Fuji 43 will fly it fine. I am very happy with the engine and considering buying another for a GP Cap232. All in all it has proven to be a good and reliable engine.

Tony M.
