Default Nagging G62 Problem

I have a G62 mounted inverted in a Pitts. This engine could be 10-15 years old and is equipped with a Jump Start unit. Have no idea ho many hours on it, but most of the time it runs just fine. starts OK, idles OK, transitions ok, good top.

Heres my problem - it cuts out when inverted or put into verticle angles of bank. Straight and level just fine. I have gone through the entire fuel system. Everything appears fine, the clunk is free and flopping.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this. The plane is a rare and beautiful 1/3 Pitts. I don't want to loose it due to a deadstick. Already had one.

One last fact. I've only had this plane for a short time and only flown it six or seven times. so I got no history with it.

If it's that old and you're sure the tank and lines are ok, the first thing I would do is take the carb apart and put new diaphragms and needle in it. Also replace the fine screen filter that's in there while you're at it. It all comes in a carb kit from the local saw shop.....$10 max.....

I agree with Nogyro, Get the carb kit. It's a simple fix. I had one that was on the shelf a couple of years and it again ran like brand new.

It's out of stock, but if your having that much trouble finding a carb kit--this looks like your best bet.

Don't you have a small engine shop anywhere? Nobody uses weed eaters around there? No one uses back pack blowers? No grass to cut? You got absolutely NO small engine shops around?

Do you have the pressure refference vent piped into the fuse so that the airflow in the cowl doesn't screw up the fuel mix??

Splais,

I know you're in the SW corner of the state, but RCIGN can't be more than a phone call away. It shouldn't take more than a couple of days for the mail to make the trip.

oooops, didn't notice where you lived. Ralph will fix you up. If not, maybe ya'll have leaf blowers or weed whacker shops out there.

Maybe someone has reversed the operation of a leaf blower to handle the local pest population.

You guys got gas powered snake suckers down there? Surely there must be a snake sucker repair shop in the vacinity? [sm=tongue_smile.gif]
