alright well that settles that... just for the record the reason why I dont fly this size is not resource related.. its related to the fact that I dont fly glow anymore and peformance in this size plane is poor (for the most part) on gas. Obviously if you want to spend the extra money as shown here you can get good performance if you really want it.

Hope everybody is happy -- but I would like to know -for my own edification
whay is "tuned exhaust " a dirty word?
And
have you guys used a well setup tuned exhaust on your engines?
I know much info about resonant systems is really awful but try this - :have you ever experienced a modern Japanese performance bike? these are tuned setups and the power is simply brutal from low to full tilt.
Tuned systems on models can be setup to work just as nicely
My full tuned (full length pipe 80J ZDZ pulls smoothly from 900rpm idle to 6500-on a 27x10Mejzlic
that is more power than most engines 20/30% larger

To me the reason I bought the Evo 26 was due to its narrow foot print. It goes into any 120 size plane just like a glow engine. All the other gassers may have a little more power, lighter etc. but they won't fit in a glow plane without hacking up the front end. Thanks, Jerry.

Dick, Pe, others
What is the actual weight of the 26GT, with ignition but no exhaust? And then what does the header and tuned pipe set up weigh?
Thanks,
Mark

The weighs posted by MVVS / Evolution are right -- the exhaust will add up to 11 ozs as I recall
the good part is , that the power increase more than covers any difference between it and the in cowl Evolution muffler that I have also run
If weight is a big factor - a Skorepa tuned pipe is about 3-4 ounces - anyway the performance of this setup and the compact design really seperate the engine from most other offerings (and burnt offerings)
