I am putting a Webra 1.20 glow engine in a Dave Patrick Ultimate ARF, his 1.20 size bird.
Does anyone have suggestions on what prop to use and what size fuel tank for a 10 to 12 minute run?
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
I have a Webra 120 in a scratch built Ultimate ( similar in size to yours ).It is a very reliable powerful engine.I use a 20 oz tank & currently a 16.5 x 8 Bolly carbon prop.I previuosly used a 15x8 APC ( a good prop as well ) although the 16.5 x 8 seems a better choice performance wise for my airframe.Hope this helps.

WHAT WAS YOUR FLY WEIGHT WHEN ALL WAS SAID AND DONE ON YOU ULTIMATE? DID THE 120 HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO HOVER? I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 120 ARF ULTIMAE BY DAVE PATRICK, AND WAS PONDERING WHAT I AM GOING TO USE FOR POWERPLANT.

I have a DP Ultimate and and originally had a YS 120 on it with a APC 16-8 prop and it was awsome in all areas but one.It would just hover (hang on the prop ) with not much pull out.I swapped to a Saito 180 with a APC 18-6 and hang on to your Transmitter! It had unlimitted vertical and honestly I could not tell any difference in flying because of the heavier motor. That plane is great. It won the Biplane shootout in MAN a few months ago.Nowto the big drawback to the Saito 180.Ihad to put an additional tank which brought it up to a 24 oz. cap. to get a comfortable 10 min. flight. That Saito loves fuel! The inverted flatspin is very flat and descends slowly and looks great. THOMAS WILLIAMS,
THERE IS NOT MUCH GAIN OVER THE 1.50 IN USING THE 1.80. I THINK IT IS ONLY SOMETHING LIKE 7% INCREASE WITH A LITTLE MORE WEIGHT ON THE 1.80. I REALLY THINK THAT THE 150 IS GOING TO BE THE BETTER WAY TO GO, BUT I AM NOT COMPLETLY SURE YET.
ANY WAY THIS IS MY .2 CENTS WORTH.
