I forgott one more thing I wanted to ask you.
Did you have to add any weight to get your CG correct?
Also what is the final weight on your plane?
Sorry for all the questions, im just trying to set mine up, its my first gas plane.

Thanks

Matt

Default RE: Peak Models 65cc??

no problem,

this is my second gasser, still not the best man on it...

I have Scanner RC servos all around there 132 oz, at 6v with .12 speed, MG. You can get them from hobby city online are Abell Hobby online. The ones from Abell are 22.00 bucks but they come in a box and the ones from hobby city are 16.95 no box no stickers on the servos but there the same thing ( I guess thats how they are able to sell them 5.00 dollars cheaper). They also have The same ones for 12.95 from hobby city with out MGs, I bought 4 of those for the ailerons at first but then I bought the MG's from Abell for them for $4.00 bucks a peace, and they fit perfectly with dual BB... I have a Video of them on RCU Videos. Read all the reviews from Hobby City they say alot of good things about them. There not super duper acurate like some 80.00 dollar digital servos, but they are 20 times better than all those other cheap servos out there, they sell out very fast on Hobby city (they just got about 80 in last night there gonna be gone by sat. I think they will do the job[8D].

I have the servo isolator (Glitch buster pro) from tower hobbies 65.00 dollars.
one reg Futaba 8 channel rx, came with my 7 cap.
9 cap Tx.
tenergy 2000ma 4.8v on the ignition,
2 x tenergy 2300 6v on servos,
sanyo 600ma on the rx.

on servos I spent about 145.00,
I got the batteries from all battery for about 11.00 bucks a peace... and they work great! alot of people say they don't charge to the full 2300, there a a couple forums on them, they say they will only charge to about 2000 or so, I don't mind because I have the dual setup. abd for the price thas still great!

My plane is about 18.3 lbs, but with thad 65cc on the front it should have no problem, I can get rid of one of the tenergy 2300s and the 600ma, and that will get me in the 17s but I like the redundancy for now ... I plan on upgrading to lipos once I save up some more cash..
also with this engine there is no need to go with the pull pull system that alot of guys with the dl or da have to go to because the engine is a little heaver, it will balance out just fine, I haven't did my final CG yet but I did to a ruff one and it came out to about 5in aft of wingtip.

Very nice, thank you for all the help.
Are you using any kinda of match box for your servos on your wings, I have two servos per wing what do you recommend?

Thanks

Awesome man, thanks for the videos. Dam that engine has some power. Let me know how the edge 540 flies with that engine.
I looked at does scanner rc servos they look good, everyone was saying good things about them. I wish I knew about them before I got my Hitec 5645s.

Got a little video today of the plane taking off with the peak 65cc in it scanner servos all around but tow pro 946 on rudder... don't like to tell people that because I know what there gonna say! It flew very good no trim needed at all took off and flew around for about 8 mins per flight, I did a couple extreme moves with the plane but didn't get any video because the bat went dead on the cam... sorry.

It looks good man, don't worry the tower pros are either hit or miss. If there working they should be fine. I checked out does scanner rc servos on Hobby City today they went up in price to $18.00 still not bad compared to Hitecs. Plane looks good, if you can make a video doing some kinfe edges and flat spins that would be phat.

You have to be a member to get the discount on them, if you are not logged in they say 17.95 if you are logged in they say 16.79... if your on there home page and look at the updates tab wich is green, you will see that they are also opening a Ohio based company in The USA very soon, the shipping should decrease alot then.[8D]

I'm not saying the tower pros are good are accurate at all, that one just works for me, I'm gonna put 2 scanner servos back there soon, but its working great now so I don't want to fus with it. Next time I go out with it I'll get some better video.

That's a bummer about the deadstick. I had to deadstick my wild hare edge on the first flight with the peak 65cc because the spark plug cap came off. If anyone is still looking for a muffler for that engine, I just got finished modifying a quadra 50 muffler. It was pretty easy, and looks decent. All I had to do was drill new mount holes in it, and enlarge the exhaust port.

did you use the spark plug that came with this engine? The one that came with mine was to small in diameter for the Cap to fit around it tight enough...

Hey mattj,

You will like the engine it just takes a little time to get it running right, as is of all engines out there... I haven't ran mine after the dead stick, My new prop just came in also, I got a Zinger 22x10 and a Xoar 24x8. I've done a couple mods on it and once the weather gets a little better I'm gonna take it out and run it. It spits a little gas out the carb wile running and I don't know if its to rich or if It will just do that... Looking forward to those videos! let me know how it goes...

Those are a twist 40 plug-n-play & a Funtana 90. I still have the funtana 90 and also a FuntanaX 100. The twist bit the dust. Really it broke in the worst possible place, right behind the canopy. The wings and everything else are fine. I'm still keeping them. I just can't see paying $279.00 for another one. I don't know why I'm keeping the wings. Maybe I can put my peak in a twist 150!!!!! Hey TJ got a couple questions for you man, first what kind of spinner did you get, and how did you get it the spinner to hold to the back plate.
I know the peak does not have a shaft but a bolt that holds the prop to the engine.
Also what size stand offs did you use, did you just use the ones that came with the engine?

Thanks Man

Matt
