Default BME 55, Big Delay if at All...

The BME 55 has been put on the shelf, there are development problems, vibration being one of them, also Keith
is considering selling BME (not the first time). The only thing he is making is 50's and 115's and it looks like that
will be the story for quite a while unless the company changes hands in the near future.

Hitorque--You may be correct that he might want to sell, but "I" think you are wrong on a few other points.

#1-Yes the 55 has been dropped, but is being replaced by the 58.
#2-Keith has other engines in development, that I am not at liberty to talk about.
#3-Might I ask where you have obtained your information??????

Maybe my understanding of the last conversation I had with Keith was wrong, but I doubt it.

Can you provide more information on how you got this? That's important when making statements like these

As RTK says there are other engines in development but are not close to being put on the market.

If you think keith is going to tell anyone on the phone what is going on in his business you are badly misstaken.

Trust me he would really like to sell the business, he is getting tired of dealing with the pubic and as anyone knows if you have done it, it's not a bed of roses.

I can't reveal my source but is is not hearsay, to find out what is going to happen may take some patience, calling Keith and asking questions is not going to get the whole story.

I would love to see him bring out some new products, his engines are very good, but I am not holding my breath.

Hi Ralph, I did at one time consider selling BME. I have been in this business for 14 years and I got a little frustrated and burned out trying to do all of it by myself. I now have a lot of new found enthusiasm and help running the business to relieve my stress level. The 55 will not happen as it was a piece of junk. It was built like another popular American made engine and now I know why they have all the problems they do. The vibration level was high as was bearing failure. I have it redesigned as a 58cc with double counterweights and three ball bearings the way a single cylinder should be made. I just got the quote from our crankshaft manufacturer and ask them to build us some samples. I know this engine has been a long time coming but I will not sell something that is junk and that is the reason for all of the delays. There is a lot of exciting new engines in the works but I will not advertise them until they are ready for sale. We have the ability to introduce a high quality low cost 50cc and 100cc twin into the market as well as a 5.8 lb 150cc engine that should be flying by the end of the month. I have a 230cc and 290cc twin that is being worked on at this time. Our 115 is selling very good and out performing all other 100cc class engines. Our web sight should be getting updated soon.

That is from the horses mouth,
I asked Keith if he would write a quick reply and I would see if I could get the thread un-lock briefly to post it. I doubt he will say anymore, but this should give a little insight as to what is going on.
This reminds me of an old saying,,,,don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
